Material Heirarchies

Sennett, Korn, Ruskin et al discuss 'craft' usually within terms of woodwork of some kind. Weaving is the only textile craft mentioned in these defining texts. These two objects are a way of exploring ideas about the cultural and gendered heirarchies that surround contemporary ideas of materials and craft.
